I am proud to be a lawyer and represent clients in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama. In high school, I remember following every minute of the O.J. Simpson trial and dreaming of practicing law someday. Over the years, I have come to understand that representing a client is not just about getting into the courtroom and performing a skill I love -- but more importantly, it is an honor and an opportunity to make a real difference in a person's life.

 

I was raised here in Mobile and attended Murphy High School. My dad is a minister and my mom is a registered nurse. I am the only lawyer in my family. At eighteen years old I left Mobile for Tuscaloosa and enrolled at the University of Alabama, majoring in English and delivering pizzas after my classes to make ends meet. As a junior, I was honored to be inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society following a nomination by one of my gracious professors.

After college, I attended the University of Alabama School of Law.  While there, I interned at the Public Defender's office and waited tables at Dreamland BBQ.  I yelled my head off at every football game and was present at the celebration where Nick Saban was officially welcomed to the campus for the first time. 

 

In 2009, I moved back home and began practicing law. As a staff attorney at Legal Services Alabama, I represented low-income family law clients for nearly a decade in contested divorces, custody disputes, and child support cases. Almost all of my clients were victims of domestic violence.  Through Legal Services, I represented the residents of Penelope House, our local shelter for survivors of abuse. These were my formative years as an attorney, and it was an honor to serve these individuals who were in need.  I did not earn a high salary, but in helping my clients navigate such difficult legal problems, I found a much greater reward.

Later, I worked as the Managing Attorney at one of Mobile's largest family law firms before embarking on my own path and forming Davis Family Law.

Over the years, I have represented family law clients in all types of disputes and all phases of litigation. I have extensive experience in drafting settlement agreements, trying cases, and handling complex family law matters.  I understand that my job is important because my clients and their families are important.  The issues they bring to me are important. For these reasons, I enjoy spending time with each client throughout their case so that I know what is most important to them.

I work closely with my talented paralegal, Colleen Hendry, and we strategize every issue in every case. I am not shy in court, and I am not shy about giving clients real, straightforward advice. 

 

Above all, I have observed that the best attorneys are those who have a heart for their clients.  Through careful preparation and attention to detail, they get great results and earn trust.  Working as a team, the attorney and client are oriented toward a common purpose. Though the attorney is the leader, her goal is to serve.  This is the firm philosophy of Davis Family Law -- to really get to know our clients, to serve them to the best of our ability, and to deliver great results.
